Our public service professionals need to have access to training, tools and resources to do their jobs to keep us safe. I support and will help to find grants or other resources to ensure our public safety needs are being met especially with the growth we are encountering in the Township,
Commerce is an integral part of creating work, live and play communities. These types of communities attract families who will grow their roots in Hinckley. I support the Chamber of Commerce and the businesses that have made a financial commitment to our community. I believe we need to designate and promote areas of thoughtfully planned development to better our community, attract and retain talented individuals and keep families in our community.
Additionally, there is a strong sense of community that is enhanced by the events created and supported by the Chamber of Commerce, and other important community groups such as the Women's Club, Historical Society and the Cleveland Metro Parks. All these groups provide valuable resources and talent that should be utilized to positively impact our community.
I would like to initiate more community centered events and to provide our elderly citizens with more resources to keep them safe and healthy.
I am proud to have had two children graduate the Highland School District. I would encourage all our residents to support the alliance we have with the district to ensure our children are receiving the highest standards of education. This benefits the community by encouraging a strength of community to return to Hinckley and bring talent, knowledge and wisdom back to the community for future generations.
I support the efforts that continue to preserve the tremendous national resources in Hinckley Township; the largest being Hinckley Reservation, which is managed by the Cleveland Metroparks. This park encompasses 2,953 acres, including the 110-acre Hinckley Lake. In addition to the Reservation, Hinckley Township also manages four other parks: Brongers Park, Veteran's Memorial Park, and two ballparks.
A portion of land where we have the Cleveland Metroparks is untaxable to Hinckley, but we are required to maintain roads, provide fire/emergency and police services which all costs the taxpayers of Hinckley Township.
In 2015, the Hinckley Township Comprehensive Plan was adopted. I would like to participate in the Plan update to reflect the current status of the Township and its growing financial burden required to provide needed services.
